Asbury Park Boardwalk: Mile-Long Outdoor Connectivity Built for Seasonal Demand
When Madison Marquette set out to enhance the visitor experience at the Asbury Park Boardwalk, Slice Wireless delivered a mile long outdoor WiFi network designed for high-density public use and year round reliability. This project required true large area WiFi; not just coverage, but performance for thousands of daily users across a busy beachfront destination.
Before installation, SLICE completed a full wireless RF site survey to map signal behavior in a challenging outdoor environment, accounting for changing foot traffic, weather, and event day interferences. The result is permanent WiFi that supports consistent wireless internet access while remaining flexible enough to scale during peak season.
A key component of the network is visitor data collection (opt-in emails), enabling stronger engagement and measurable marketing value. The platform also supports feature add-ons such as surf cams and other guest facing enhancements that increase satisfaction and encourage return visits.
SLICE continues to provide Managed WiFi Services, including monitoring, maintenance, and expansion planning. The design also supports temporary wireless for events such as; concerts, concessions, and major public gatherings. With no compromise to everyday performance. For venues seeking monetization, the network can be structured as a cost recovery network through sponsorship, premium access, or branded splash pages.
This deployment demonstrates how robust WiFi can deliver both connectivity and business value in high traffic public spaces.
