Cambium Networks has entered Administration (EU)/Receivership (USA).
URGENT: your Cambium cloud management system is currently in jeopardy of being turned off starting October 1 — See below our Statement
Contact us and lets review your current situation and help you come up with alternative solutions to keep you running.
Dear Slice Wireless Solutions Clients:
Cambium Networks has been placed into administration (bankruptcy) in the United Kingdom. Last Friday they laid off about 50% of their workforce and then filed on Monday. They released a statement to partners today, Linked Here. This is a fast moving situation, and rest assured that we are monitoring closely and doing all we can to ensure that your network remains functioning and secure.
The biggest concern is that their “cnMaestro” Wi-Fi controller is a cloud-managed system. While this has always been a selling point, and is the industry standard, it means that if they cannot pay their cloud hosting bills, your network may not function properly.
Cambium offers a “on premises” version of their software for free. We are in possession of that software and are working with it to establish the best way forward. They have said that they intend to keep the cnMaestro cloud running at least until October 1st. We feel it is likely that they will find a financial solution for their products before that and we will have much more time, but we are not risking it and over the next week will develop an alternative solution for cnMaestro hosting enabling the system to continue working.
No enterprise equipment maker has ever totally shut down before. Cambium has too many products and too much intellectual property to be entirely liquidated. Nonetheless, as we don’t know what will happen, we will make contingency plans. Rest assured that we are doing all we can to make sure that your systems remain fully functional.
We will share information with you as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
John Hutzler
Chief Operations Officer
